Department of Labour submissions

Businesses and organisations that employ staff are required to register with the Department of Labour (DoL) and submit to the DoL their:

  • Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) submissions monthly
  • COIDA (WCA) annual returns

Employers must send information about their workers to the UIF. This is used to calculate the UIF contributions that you need to pay monthly to the UIF. The amount due is 2% of each employee’s salary, comprising contributions of 1% from the employee and 1% from the employer. The contribution must be paid by the 7th of each month, or by the last business day before the 7th if it falls on a weekend or public holiday.

We can calculate and submit the monthly UIF submissions to the DoL on your behalf. This ensures it is submitted timeously and accurately. In turn, this saves you valuable time

COIDA (WCA) Annual Returns

The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) provides compensation to employees if any disease is sustained or disablement is caused by occupational injuries while they are employed. COIDA also provides compensation for the death of employees resulted from such diseases or injuries.

Employers need to submit a Return of Earnings form to the Compensation Fund each year by 31 March. This indicates that a company is still in business, or that it will be in business in the next few years.

We believe in providing the best quality compliance in a professional manner!
